Does anyone know of any affordable and efficient tic medicines for dogs?

I live in Florida where there are a million tics. My dog cant go outside for two minutes without picking up one. Any suggestions?

frontline is the best it may be a bit on the expensive side but you don't have to use it as much as the cheaper ones

Get your dog on Fronline or K9 Advantix. It's the best $12 a month solution you'll find (You'll basically waste 3 times that "trying" other things).

Frontline Plus (not just plain old Frontline) will kill ticks for 30 days - apply an entire vial to a single spot between your dog's shoulder blades on the first day of every month. It will also keep fleas and mosquitoes and other pests off of him.

I have been looking into ways of keeping ticks off my dog as well, and a suggestion I haven't gotten to use yet but have been told works is Avon's skin so soft bug spray, diluted.
Also, apparently citronella spray that you would spray onto a cloth and then wipe on the dog works too.
I use frontline and still get ticks. Can't use advantix if you have cats...

If you apply Frontline spot on then any ticks that get on your dog will die within 24 to 48 hours.
Any ticks that are on now you can soak in ether or surgical spirits to help loosen the head, and use tweezers to pull them off, check you've got the tick intact as if the head breaks off in your dog it can cause a skin infection, but if you use Frontline they will start to die as soon as they bite into your dog and removing them is easier, or you can just let them to drop off once dead.

I give my dogs a tablespoon of minced garlic for every 50 pounds of weight. This seems to deter mosquitoes, fleas, and tics pretty well.

Do not overuse garlic, in higher doses it can be detrimental to your dog's health.
