Any medicines or herbs to improve short sightedness?

My job requires me to constantly stare at the monitor causing my eye sight to be come worse. My glasses are getting thicker. Recently I even had problem focusing my sight on words when reading newspaper. Im afraid to go for eye sight correction therapy because I do not know what the consequences are...and i only have one pair of eyes.

So if anyone had come across some herbs or medicine that has cured or even slightly improved ur vision...please do share

Hope that i can go without glasses one day..
