Puppy Heartworm Medicine?

My 3 month old yorkie was prescribed Inteceptor as a heart-worm medicine by my vet but it say the required weight of the dog is 2 to something lbs. but she is not yet 2lbs. I've heard stories of puppies being killed from heart-worm medicine but I don't remember if they were because the puppies were already infected or not. I have been thinking of putting off giving her the medicine until I take her to the vet in a month but what I wanted to know is since she is under the required weight for the medicine, should I still give it to her? She is an inside dog and i'll take in the yard a couple times a week for 10 minutes or so because she loves being outside.

Call your vet.

if your vet perscribed it, it should be fine, but if you are still concered call them instead of waitng a month
