Need help with a topic for research paper..mental health please read.?

I have to do an 8 page paper on mental health. I wanted to do treatments verse outcome over the years. Like how they used to send women to "bed rest" back in the day and many would end up more crazy..I need a good thesis any ideas?

A while ago, this crazy doctor used to perform a treatment for depression, ADD, ADHD, hyperactiveness in kids, basically a cure for everything. It was truly horrible. It's called a Transorbital lobotomy .

This is the one of the last living people who had this done. He was only 9 at the time and is pretty mad about his parents doing this to him. They did it because he was "unruly". But just to warn you, there is a picture of the procedure on this page, and although it's not "graphic" it's a little unnerving.

What about the term is "warehousing" vs living in society? Warehousing was where they would place the mentally ill in either state hospitals or state funded homes and they would live out of. They were heavily medicated, and out of touch with reality and the real world. These were people who suffered from nervous breakdowns who now only require some hospital stay, yet in the past, they had them vegged-out forever. Now, only the severe cases wind up in hospitals.
