Can someone who have suffered from mental health or have mental problems

can become a psychologist? I watch this programe about this woman who have multiple personalities and studying psychology. Whould she ever practise as a psychologist? Does that mean anyone who suffered mental health can be a psychologist?

I have to add that i'm sure that people with mental health can be intelligent. I didn't say otherwise. I just meant that the health issue can interfere with their work. Couldn't they?

I think that people go into fields that interest them. My family was in dire needs of psychologists when I got my masters in Psych. I know of people with D>I>D> who study psychology, to discover why they do what they do.

Yes actually you can because you would have had experience with what your clients/patients are going through.

Suffering from mental health would not prevent you from doing a course in anything as far as I am aware, it would make that person more emphatic to a lot of their clients I feel.

My understanding is that psychologists have the highest rate of suicides. So, I don't think the lady would have a problem...unless her psychosis was debilitating.
