Looking for a children's/young adult book about a girl in the hospital,...

...origami ships, and Norse mythology. I'm looking for a book I read when I was younger about a girl who had been kidnapped one day at the grocery store and violently shoved out of a moving car; she's cooped up in the hospital with some somewhat serious injuries. She takes to folding origami to keep herself occupied; one day when she begins to unfold a paper ship, it keeps unfolding until it fills the room and becomes a real Viking ship. The Vikings take her with them into their world of Norse mythology where she becomes caught up with the dynamics of the world of the Norse gods. I loved this book dearly and can't remember the title, and I really want to use it as a reference in a paper I'm writing about books that have influenced my writing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Great book-- she did several good ones. I remembered this because I liked the Norse mythology.
