| How long does it take before a belief known as "religion" becomes a... ...belief known as "mythology"? At what point did Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and Norse tales about their deities cease to become popular? At what point will Christian, Muslim, and Hindu tales about their deities cease to become popular? Was it because the primary civilization that supported these beliefs fell or were destroyed? Does that then mean that belief systems (and their accompanying truths and faiths) are neither UNIVERSAL nor ETERNAL, but rather require the sponsorship of a strong society and culture to survive? Or if you don't think that modern religions will ever disappear from popular belief, then why not? Really, what's the difference between what people believe now and what we think of as "mythology"? |
