Why do people call the Greek Gods "mythology" ?

Why is Zeus and Hercules and Apollo any more myth then Jesus Christ and the Christian God? When a new religion comes along do they automatically call the old religion a "myth" and make their Gods seem like "idols"?

Are you so sure that thousands of years from now Christianity and Judaism wont be myths as well? To me its VERY OFFENSIVE to call Zeus and Hercules myths.
