What is the Mythological or Folklore connection of a bird of prey leaving...

...its kill on your doorstep? A hawk flew up to the front of our house today and left a little black bird (I think it was a grackle, poor little guy) on the porch. We watched the whole thing happen and it was really wild. Does that have any significance in folklore, mythology, or legend?

I'm not sure on this to be honest. It's not normal, at least I don't think it is.

Perhaps it's a wild hawk which is used to humans and was being friendly? Doubt it but you never know!

The only things I know about mythology wise is things like padfoot, the black dog omen and Howling Banshee's etc.

um, thats not good, it means youll be killed by something falling from the heavens. try to stay inside when weather is bad, but also be carefull of birds dropping stuff around your house. theres a way to counteract it too, drink rain water for three weeks at midnight every day...
