Chinese folklore/superstion: Is an eye twitch bad luck?

My friend from China, named Apple, told me that an eye twitch in the eyelid is a sign of bad luck and I was thinking that it could actually make sense because eye twitching and muscle twitching is a sign of stress and being stressed can come from underlying factors that maybe you can't really think about but your body knows about- like under the surface feelings of anger from someone you know. So if you do have this happen- what can you do about it? If you know there is bad luck around you how can you remedy it. She said to put a white paper on the eye that is twitching, but I don't really think that helps anything but lets people know you are stressing. What can you do if you don't even know what it is that is causing the stress that is causing the reaction?

my mum said that an bad luck eye twitch is either the left or right, it cant be both. i forgot which one. the other is a sign of luck.
