Greek mythology: Aesculapius and Coronis?

Greek mythology:
What is the story of Aesculapius and Coronis about?
Please help with coming up with an idea for a skit. It can either be modern or ancient...as creative as possible. Thanks

rogue has a spectacular aura about
The mother of Asclepius by Apollo. Even before she gave birth to Asclepius she cheated on Apollo. Raven informed Apollo of her infidelity and the god killed her (according to others it was Artemis). Before her body was consumed on a funeral pyre, Apollo saved the life of his son. Since then, raven have black feathers where before they were white.

Coronis is also the name of the daughter of Coronaeus, King of Phocis, changed by Athena into a crow to enable her to escape from Neptune.

Thalia has a spectacular aura about
Here is a really short summary :

The god Apollo fell in love with a princess named Coronis, and she became pregnant.

But Coronis had an affair with a man named Ischys.

Apollo's bird the crow found out and told the god. The god then turned the bird's feathers black. He also sent his sister Artemis to kill Coronis with her arrows.

Coronis was killed, and her father placed her on a funeral pyre. But Apollo came and cut the baby from her womb.

This baby, named Asclepius (or Aesculapius), he gave to the centaur Chiron to raise. He was taught to be a great physician.

How you dramatise this as a skit is up to you.

You can find some more detailed versions of the story here :

The ancient poets Pindar and Ovid give the characters in the story a little dialogue.
