How do Christians feel about comparative mythology/religion?

I noticed that people who bring up similarities between Christianity and religions other than Judaism get downrated a lot. Why is that? I would think that the similarities between Christianity and other religions/mythologies would be obvious.
If the problem were being compared to what people believed long ago, then why is it okay to compare Christianity to Judaism but not to other religions/mythologies?

Nobody wants to admit they stole from someone. Especially after they hit it big, and that "someone" is lost in obscurity.

It happens all the time, and not only with religions.

"They generally know nothing about it, or if they do, they are in denial."

LOL. I love uninformed comments like this. Contrary to the above, Christians are quite open to discussing comparative religion and most Christian colleges have comparative religion classes. How do you "witness" to someone of another faith unless you understand what they believe?

You compare what people believe now to what people believed long ago. It's insulting.
