How would a safety-critical computerization project (for example Collins

submarine computerization) ever be... completed ?

There might be a call to "review", or modify, a component already produced.

How would the unmodified system be saved, so that it could be used if the modified system has problems ?

The project could be held up indefinitely by calls to modify systems that would be usable unmodified.
