Vonnie has a spectacular aura about
Trying to find info on a Brian Smith who died in when his US Navy ship was...

...sunk in Guadalcanal in WW II.? All we know is that he was an American of Greek origin, who was stationed in Queensland, Australia for a while and during that time a baby was conceived. Unfortunately, Brian was killed at Guadalcanal and his girlfriend married someone who took on the child as his own.

The sad thing is that Brian's parents (who we believe live/ed in America) wanted to meet the child, but they were not allowed .

"The child" now has 3 grown sons who are interested in finding out more about Brian Smith, their birth grandfather.

The info should be found in a book (2 volumes) called "Combat Connected Naval Casualties, World War II, by States", which is available at large reference libraries in the USA. If anyone could look up this book for me, it would be VERY MUCH appreciated. (Can't locate in the book anywhere in Australia.)
