I can't swim for nothing, and i leave for Navy Basic Training in a week.?

How much people you knew that couldn't swim and passed basic? Do most people passss Navy basic? I need ur help. thx

Well the navy is all about water, isnt it? Tom Clancy says in one of his books that some navy recruits havent seen water larger than a pool or even a glass of water so I guess youre gonna be fine. But the real showstopper is if you is afraid of water and afraid of swimming or not. If youre not afraid just tell them that you cant swim and they will most likely teach you. Johan

No worries.

You'll probably end up staying in Basic until you learn how to swim.

Or you could transfer to the Coast Guard, all you need to do there is learn how to wade back to shore after your ship sinks.

You might want to take a crash course on how to tread water...keep your head above water. Even in the Army you had to take a "drown proving" course. Just make sure that you tell them ahead of time for safety sake.
