| Army Rangers are more like highly skilled infantry. I knew several when I was in the army years ago. Most of them weren't as unhinged as other special ops. Oh, and hand to hand is a last ditch resort for everyone. Only if they are right on top of you and the bayonet is broken. |

| Each branch has different missions. Look at the Rangers, they are over in Iraq and A-stan doing patrols and many other things, kind of like infantry. Special Forces (Green Berets) have a completely different mission. They do a lot of training with the Iraqis or whatever country outside the US they are stationed in (unconventional warfare). Different missions require different training. You will learn similar combat training to SF if you are ranger but you will not learn exactly the same because simply put you are not SF. |
