Dontae Tazewell, a hospital corpsman assigned to a Yorktown medical clinic, is charged with one count of making a false official statement, eight counts of forging documents related to the insignia and 11 counts of wearing unauthorized badges or medals. [ Read More ] Third sailor hospitalized in Ghana ACCRA, Ghana — The bodies of two Virginia-based Navy sailors who were found dead in a hotel room in the West African nation of Ghana on New Year’s Eve have been flown to Germany for a post-mortem examination. Frank Adu-Poku, the director-general of Ghana’s Criminal Investigation Department, also said Friday a third sailor who had been with the two has been hospitalized since their bodies were discovered. Adu-Poku would not comment further on the third sailor’s hospitalization, which had not previously been reported. Marcus Bowers, 18, of Scott City, was indicted Thursday on charges of first-degree murder in the September death of Stanley Hagan, 45. Police say Bowers slammed Hagan’s head into a tie-down stake outside the victim’s mobile home in Scott County.
