Will 2 DUI's affect my chances to become a Navy SEAL?

My first DUI was in 2003 and my second in 2005. It has been three years since my last DUI and the offense Degree was just a Misdemeanor U. I talked with my recruiter and he said because of the 2nd DUI I would not be able to join any special forces / SEAL's because of the security clearence I would need to be granted. Is this true? I also talked with some of my Ranger buddies and they have different opinions on that saying it doesnt matter actually. Please help =)

Yes it's true. You will not be able to ENLIST as a SEAL or any other SF type MOS in any branch. The reason is as you stated - the security clearance.

You may be able to get into it AFTER you are in the military. The rules change a bit once you are in and serving.

SEAL and other SOF are all volunteer, so get in first, and then try to get going with it.

It might not effect your chances for the Seals, but it defiantly doesn't help your odds in living.
