rockon_em01 has a spectacular aura about
Will I make it through navy bootcamp with shin splints?

My personal trainer had to rework my routines to include less running or none at all because my shin splints were really hurting me. My shins would hurt even on days off of workouts. Granted, I have some weight to lose, which is why I took up boxing and got a personal trainer. It is my personal logic that as more weight comes off the less I will aggravate my shins. But I could be wrong. Am I wrong? Furthermore, I am losing weight as I want to enlist in the navy. In reading over what will happen in bootcamp they say there is running for at least 20 minutes a day. At this point, I can't. Will I have to suffer through the pain just to get through, or is there something that can help me, or... God forbid, am I SOL? Anyone? Any training or related advice or anyone else's experience is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
