I'm a American who lived in Germany for one year, before I went I thought American's were liked or disliked equally to all other foreigners. Anti-Americanism in Europe has become a part of their culture. It's not just the Iraq war they basically need to trash America in every single possible way, be it either foreign policy, American sports, American way of life ect. It's not uncommon in Europe for teachers at school to make anti-American comments to their students. Never in my 12 years of school in America has a teacher ever bashed a foreign country.

I think their is much more to it than just the Iraq war, I have a strong feeling this has existed since the beginning of the 1900's and just magnified itself with time. I wanted to ask any soldiers that have been posted in Europe if you have picked up on this?

I have kind of developed a hatred for Germans since coming back to the USA.
