should i go to the navy ??? Actuallt todays Navy ships are like love boats. there are far too many women aboard them. And yes, as a newby you do alot of cleaning, but I wouldn't trade my time in it for anything.USN ret 1978-2006

should i go to the navy ??? There are girls on the boat, but there are also alot of guys harrassing the girls because they dont think they belong on the boat, but yes the navy is a wonderful choice. You get to be out on a massive boat all day, on water, sometimes seeing dolphins, snakes, sharks. Getting to dive and see all the life underneath the ocean. Being able to wear the uniform and be respected by all, as for the cleaning. No matter what branch you join there will be cleaning, its just the military way of life.I joined my senior year but i wanted to ever since freshman year, and the experience is amazing. I leave for basic training in 30 days, and Im going to Ft Jackson, this has to be the best expperience known to man. Email me any questions: ms_oxford_89@yahoo.com(Private Oxford Here Of The United States Army, Active Duty)HOOAH!!!

should i go to the navy ??? lol. I'm a girl and I was navy. lol. Navy rocks. I don't know who you're talking to who says it sucks? The Airforce recruiter? lol. I served in the Navy and I loved it. Absolutely loved it. It's definitely the best way to go. I was told that you can either fly over it, walk through it or sail around it - I picked sail around it. Just kidding, that's not why I joined the Navy. You get to see a lot of places - lots of places, all over the world. You can't do much of that in the other branches unless you are stationed there or take TAD (temporary assigned duty). In the Navy though, you are stationed on a ship when you're on sea duty and that ship goes all over the world and you see so many different places and peoples and things. There's also nothing like being out to sea - the beauty is indescribable, there's nothing like sitting out on the sponson after a long day and just looking over the water to the edge of the world (or what looks like the edge of the world). Lots of cleaning? No, not really. Just keep your rack straight, that's about it, and clean up your work area. Just common making sure things are neat and clean. Nothing huge though. As far as no girls on the boat, that's only on subs. Whoever told ya that has no clue, that or they served back in the 70's or 80's. The truth is, Navy is the best. It is the way to go - it's awsome man. I wish I were still there. So does everyone else I know who made the mistake of getting out. Join the Navy, see the world. Go Navy, you won't regret it.Additional: Plus, if you're stationed on a small boy (a smaller ship such as a cruiser or battleship, sometimes they have swimming days - I mean come on, when else in your life can you jump off the deck of a military ship and go swimming in the middle of the ocean???? Please note (lol) they don't do this on Carriers, the jump alone off of a carrier deck would kill you - lol.

should i go to the navy ??? I can't think of anybody who has really enjoyed the U.S.Navy, except my father. It was his life, and he was alifer. Yeah, well, you do WORK alot see, and, yes, thereare women and drugs aboard ships. Now, I knowsome Navy guys may get upset with me aboutthis, but it's a fact Jack. Some hanky-panky doesgo down, but you don't want to get caught. The Navyhas been coming down much harder on their screw-upers than in the past.Life aboard ship can be pretty difficult. Even on thebig ones. But, you can get a first rate education. My brothertook missile technology and he got a great career inelectronics once he got out after I think 4 years.

should i go to the navy ??? um...it doesnt matter what branch you go in.... as long as your lower ranking...youre going to clean... a lot. everyone does it, its just the way it works. Once you gain some rank, you can tell someone else to do the cleaning. every person I know in the navy went to Bahrain for 2 years...and then to California to the Naval Reserve out there. Personally, I was in the Army. There is not a specific branch that is suitable for everyone.... you need to look at each branch and decide which one suits you best. There is always going to be someone talking trash about a different branch. Thats the way it is. Marines and Army talk trash about eachother... and everyone talks trash about the Navy and the Airforce. But the fact of the matter is... youre still in the military...and all branches are fighting for the same thing...toward the same goals. Half of the trash talk is about things we wish we had..... we made fun of Airforce, but most of it was because we were pissed that we didnt have air conditioning and the food they had (in Iraq)Dont join a certain branch because someone else wants you to.... find what works for you, and go with that. Its your life...live it how you want.

should i go to the navy ??? As a Junior enlisted person you will do you share of cleaning.the further you go up the less you will clean. ( Sometimes they will say All E-3's and below report to ...) The are a lot of women on ship in the navy today. The only ships that they are not on are Submarines. Men and women train togetherin boot camp after a couple of weeks.I hope this answers your questions.
