What is the best job in the U.S Navy that keeps me close to my family?

I im a family woman seeking a career for the U.S Navy. Which path would I CHOOSE that allows me to see my family more often.

Yeoman. Other than that, none. You're better off going in to the Coast Guard. Trust me. I was been in the CG for 5 years and I was out to sea for my first 3. (not all at once, six out and six in.) But if you want to be more family oriented, join the CG and go Yeoman or Storekeeper. I chose to go on a CG ship, yes we do have those, but its only required for certain jobs.

I'd say join the Air Force. There are too many situations in the Navy where you'd be gone a lot. Practically all the jobs the Navy has can be on a ship. Or be in the Seabees. They're the construction battalion. You could be a carpenter, electrician, plumber and be a Seabee.

Lady Dudette, several factors are at play and the main one is your family near a naval station/base? Then there may be a fair chance to be station near by on the other hand if your family lives in the America's heart land chance aren't so good. Good luck.
