Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!i got an re4 dishcarge from the navy. My recruiters wont help me is there anyway to fight it?

Yikes guy. There isn't much you can do now except petition the Navy to change your RE code to something more beneficial to you. But since you lied I don't think the Navy is going to want to help you with this one. But if you want to try there is no harm in that. Start with your local representative. He or she has the political pull necessary to help you out. In the mean time you're stuck. An RE4 discharge is bad news and employers aren't going to want to hire someone with that on their record.

Sorry but it seems you never even got out of boot camp. An RE-4 is given in cases like this to do exactly what it is doing, keep you from ever enlisting in any military branch again. It is a trust thing. You say you lied, but how does anyone know you aren't just lying to get back in? I would say you are screwed 99%. Real life does suck when you think it isn't fair but in this case you did it to yourself by not coping well. Boot camp is stressful but the real Navy is even worse. If you can't deal with stress with out going wack the military is not for you. If you want to go appeal your discharge go to the www.va.gov site and fing the link to the appeals board. They will hear your case but don't count on them changing it. The Navy makes sure if you get sent home you get sent home with the correct RE code.

there is nothing anyone can do for u and u can not have a re code no matter what it is not even your recuriter can do anything for u not even the va sorry

I read a few very good answers...You shouldn't be in the military, and you are basically banned from the military. Besides, recruiters are ment to get you in, not give you help and all that. At any point in time you get a RE Code of 4, your done with the military. Only way that MIGHT be changed, if it was for some serious hardship conditions. You can get your RE Code & Discharge changed, by talking to someone at a military org like the American Legion, but in your case, I doubt it would do any good. The military has a ZERO TOLERENCE when it comes to drugs & alcoholism, regardless of the situation because point blank, there is no excuse for it. Personally, I think you are a piss poor example for anyone to represent the fine uniform of a military person, and I am glad your @$$ got kicked right on out. It's people like you that get others killed over seas...Wow...Flash back to the good old DS days. Man I miss being a DS.
