Navy incentive pay, anyone who actually knows can you explain?

I'm going in as an Air traffic controller or NUKE, not sure which yet, but i tested into anythign with my ASVAB. Recently my recruiter brought up incentive pay, basically they just kept saying I can get up to 3k a month, for extending tours and such. My thing is they couldn't really seem to give me a straight answer on what the truth is of how much if anyone i could get, just what the max is.

So can someone explain in the two fields i listed, what i might expect for incentive pay, how much it is typically, how you get it, if it's even something to consider, i'm trying to work out a years budget to save max amount and i'm trying to include and work out everything, so realistically, i am putting this in "dispensable" income, meaning that hopefully i can save more of my standard wage and use more of this supposed incentive pay to go out. . ..
