| Air Force Can't take me HELP!!!!!? My Air Force Recruiter said that I was only qualified to have an administrative job, since it was the highest out of all the other categories for jobs. but right now only jobs on open slots are Mechanical and Electronics. Administrative is the job type I want,but he said the Air Force is not taking anyone with those qualifications as of right now. He explained to me that Admins. are harder to get and suggested I should retake the ASVAB and bump my score higher in hopes of a broader job selection. I'm already 26 and my Brithday is in Sept. 22nd. Should I wait it out until there is an open slot? How hard is it really to get administrative jobs and how frequent do slots open for admin. right now? Can I still enlist at 27? If so I think that can buy me some time to raise my ASVAB score if I decide instead of being in that delayed entry program or waiting list. (whatever you call it) Does this explain downsizing the Air Force? Even though people quailify to enlist in the Air Force the jobs are hard to get. This pertains to any Air Force Recruiters out there or any one who's going through the same thing as I am.      |
