Navy SEALs - Surface Warfare?

I've recently enlisted in the Navy SEALs and I was wondering if it would at all be possible for a SEAL to eventually gain command of a vessel when they achieve higher officer ranks? Would this require a change of focus during reenlistment?
Damn, typo. I know you don't enlist in SEALs and it's a voluntary service if you can pass the PST.

You didn't enlist in the SEAL's. You enlisted in the United States Navy with an opportunity to attempt SEAL training. You're just another squid until they pin that Trident on you.

No SEAL, enlisted of officer, would ever, under any circumstances, transfer out of the teams, at least not while he still had a pulse.

To take command of anything larger than a tug boat in the navy you'd have to be an unrestricted line officer.

I dont think your gonna be a SEAL, You have enlisted in the Navy NOT the Navy SEALS..I think you might get to try out for the SEALS but in reality you have fallen for the Navys best recruiting method..When you dont make it in the tryouts for SEALS you will be a Sailor in the regular Navy...To answer your question, NO, a SEAL can not command a ship as an active SEAL..I hope your not going around telling all your friends your gonna be a SEAL because your gonna look very stupid in the future.
