Difference between Navy Reserves and Full Active Duty...Benifits?

My husband wants to join the Navy Reserves, not Navy Full Active Duty. However, I am confused on the income and schooling pay for a man who is married with three children. I have been told there is no dependent limit and that my husband cannot choose what schooling he wants to be in, and that they do not pay for is full tuition. I have also been told that there is a dependent limit for full active duty and that he could choose what schooling he wanted and that he would not have to pay for any of his schooling. I have been told that my husband part-time job does not have to be held for him and that they can decrease his hours. I want to make sure that my family is taken care of if my husband goes into the reserves only, not full active duty. Please someone tell me the truth of all this.
