Diggle I has a spectacular aura about
want to become a navy officer, but enlisted at the moment, does current job matter?

I am lined up to go in as ATC for the navy at the moment, i have about a year and half left on a ba, then i am going to go for ocs, i'd like to be in ocs after about 4 years, i wanted to get ATC because i'd love to do that job when I got out. However, after looking at the benefits, most likely i think i'll make a career out of the military if i could be an officer.

My question is, if I were to change fields to a less stressful field, something that I can concentrate more on my classes would it effect my commission, my recruiter said that aviation, especially ATC will make me very competitive to become an officer because it's a competitive field, she said compared to someone like a cook going for OCS i'd get the spot over him, all else equal. . . .

is this true, my dad recommended that i look at an easier MOS that will let me do better in school classes. .. he worked with ATC's and said it'll be nearly impossible to finish a degree properly and give it the time it will need.
