it all depends on what you want to do, if you have a specific job in mind that you want to do and you are set on doing that job the best bet would be for you to join the army because we are the only branch that can guarentee you a job of choice as long as you qualify for it and there is an opening in that job. also they can get you a signing bonus up to 20,000 just for being in a specific job. with all branches you are going to get money for education but the army i know for sure will give you extra money just for going to school i dont know if the other branches do that..also if you want to be a carrear soldier then the army is also the best bet because they have a lot more courses that you can go through to keep you moving up on the chain. your best bet is to sit down with a recruiter from each branch and talk to them and see what they can offer you and let them know that you are looking into each branch and seeing which one is going to give you the most, do your research and im sure you will be drawn to one more than the others and thats the one you should be in. |

Well if you join the Marines you'll be way closer than people in the other branches are. But, I know plenty of marines who have gone to Iraq and come back with post traumatic stress disorder or other horrible flashbacks. I don't recommend them. The Army is also close but again, you will be deployed, straight to iraq. If you can handle over a year not ever seeing your family and only hearing from them over letters and leaving your entire life behind, go ahead be be sure as hell to pick a job that you would LOVE to do. I've been in the Navy for 3 years, if you pick the right job it's easy. But you will most likely get stationed on a ship. Imagine drills at all hours, 8 month deployments, a tiny smelly cot in close quarters with other unsanitary humans, lots and lots of bullshit. It's like all of your bad jobs, fused together, as one. I don't recommend it. Go coast guard, I wish I had joined them. I was an idiot and didn't even think of them before I joined the navy. them or the air force is without a doubt in my mind the better route. |
