Grand Master of Iowa Dennis M. Zahrt Dear Brother, Thank you for the honor bestowed upon me at the just completed Grand Lodge Communication. The theme for this year is to "Get Hooked on Iowa Masonry". All of us need to remember, We are Someones Impression of the Fraternity. Lodge Renewal is a continuation of Legacy. The best way to leave a legacy is by Lodge Renewal. Renewal of existing lodges is important, but I believe that it also means chartering new lodges. We need to return to the practice of an existing lodge or lodges being a friend, or a brother if you will, to brethren wishing to start a new lodge. In other words, be the sponsor by offering financial help if needed, and support. In the next month, all Masons will be receiving a packet of mailing labels. The proceeds from this program will be used to form a Lodge Renewal Fund that a lodge will be able to borrow from in the event of an emergency. Included in that packet will be a pocket petition for every Iowa Mason to carry with them at all times. The pocket petitions are available from the Grand Secretary, so feel free to ask him for a supply. I hope to see as many of you as possible at the Grand Master Area Meetings held throughout the state in October and November.
I plan to send updates periodically to all who have their e-mail address on file in the Grand Secretarys Office. Please feel free to share these updates with your Masonic friends. If they have an email address and would like to start receiving them, they should send an e-mail to gs@gl-iowa.org to be added to the list. The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it; but that our aim is too low and we reach it. Fraternally,
Dennis M. Zahrt
