| November 27, 2006 From: Dennis M. Zahrt, Grand Master of Masons in Iowa Email: dzahrt@revealed.net Brethren: Having just completed the Grand Master’s Area Meetings I must report to you that they were very successful and well attended. The presentations by the Members of the Lodge Service Committee were well planned, short, concise, and well received by all in attendance. They were successful because of the participation of the brethren who were at the meetings. The meetings were in actuality the Masons of Iowa Area Meetings because that was the sole reason for them. Informing the Craft of Iowa what the Grand Lodge, which is the Craft of Iowa, is doing. That is what we attempted to accomplish, and I pray we did. Thank you, brethren, for your participation. I ask each one of you to visit the Iowa Masonic Library and Museum in Cedar Rapids. It is your Library, and is there for your use and enjoyment. Call the Grand Secretary and arrange a tour of the Library. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 12 Noon and 1 PM to 5 PM. Tours can be arranged and they are welcomed at other times, but they need to be coordinated with the Grand Secretary. Also in the Library is the Office of the Grand Master. Yes, the Grand Master has an office in the Grand Lodge Library Building. The Grand Master even uses the office when he is in Cedar Rapids. This office was made possible because of the Ladies’ Craft and Sale proceeds in Davenport at the Grand Lodge Meeting. Brenda Anderson, wife of then Deputy Grand Master Ken Anderson felt an office for the Grand Master was needed. Grand Master Charles Brinkerhoff agreed and it was accomplished. It is still a ‘work in progress’ but is proceeding nicely. I still want to attend as many meetings as my schedule will allow. From your responses to my other messages there are many degrees going on all through the state, and that is fantastic brethren. Keep up the good work. Sincerely and Fraternally, Denny Dennis M.
