nonenzedder has a spectacular aura about
Optical Drives..?

I have a optical drive out of my old toshiba that i want to swap for the one in my acer...(which is stuffed)..on removing them they look identical..although different makes - both are 5 volts and have the same electrical connections - though the broken acer is a phillips RAM drive (whatever that is)./ dvd burner. the toshiba one is just a dvd burner..

Will it work (after i remove and swap the bracket and face plate)..or will i be taking a huge risk in doing this?

Thanks in advance.
Sorry - It's a laptop.
