as your uterus expands, your center of gravity changes. Because your center of gravity changes, you hold your self differently because of the added weight. You start to hold your shoulder way back and your stomach out. This affects the allignment of your spine and makes your back ache.

its actually a triangular bone located just above your butt crack, and it shifts very easily due to your body relaxing from being pregnant. that is the pain that you are feeling, and it can radiate up your back or side to side. this is what one of my clients told me (im a hair stylist) and she is a physical therapist. she showed me some excercises to pop it back into place and they help SO MUCH!! i will try my best to explain: sit on a hard floor, like a tile or wood floor with your legs bent at the knee. then sit up as staright as you can and rock back and forth side to side very slowly and youll be able to feel it. kinda like you are balencing on your tail bone, you will feel it pop back into place. you can arch your back at the same time if you want. this helps soooo much, i had to actually cancel appts for 2 days due to my back when i was only 5 weeks!!! it was awful, it took my breath away, and i was walking like an old crippled lady. it is perfectly safe for you to take 2 regular strength tylenol, or one extra strength this early on too. it will situate itself into a position and wont bother you before too long. then you just have the tension from all the wieght which gets relief from a great prenatel massage after your first trimester!! soooooo i hope you get to feeling better. these excercises will hurt!!! but if done right, and youll know if your doing it wrong, will help tremendously. good luck! |

I thought I was going crazy! I'm only 4 wks and for the last couple of nights my back has been gradually getting more sore. I thought I was sleeping wrong or something. So it's cause of this pregnancy? Maybe it's cause your body is working so hard to make the baby that it's slacking on taking care of itself. I don't know, sorry. But I'm happy to know it's not just me.
