Chronic upper back pain?

Ok so i use to play sports a lot in middle school and then i stopped and started staying at home on the computer slouching. I also carried all my books in my bag my freshmen year since i didnt have a locker. My upper back,shoulders,neck, hurt all the time. Im a senior now and the pain is still there. I got a xray and my doctor said everything looked fine. But could be causing it? I dont stay at home anymore and im active again, but this pain wont leave. Do you think its a muscular problem? It hurts a lot.

Oh and its not scoliosis.

Have you tried going to a masseuse regularly? That might help. I'm not sure of the origin of your problem, though. You also might try going to a chiropractor.

Have the Dr's check your facet joints, you could have a crack or fluid could have leaked and this would not show up on a xray, Try to get an MRI , also the chiropractor is a good idea
