Dent in leg muscle, pain 4 years later, permanent damage?

4 years ago I was playing football with some friends by a lake. One guy overthrew the ball. I ran to get it, not looking where I was going, and I ran straight into one of those trailer hitches with a boat connected to it. The upper part of my left leg hit the hitch and I had an indentation in my leg nearly an inch deep and a horrible bruise. 4 years later, it's not as deep, but it's still there. I've been playing soccer, and it seems like this part of my left leg is almost immobile after so much activity. Did the dent permanently change my muscle and it's capabilities? And if so, are there certain activities that are not good to do because of it? Has anyone else had anything like this happen?
