My father has been having severe pain on the left lower side of his back...?

and this man is no sissy, when he says he has pain, he is reaaalllyyy in pain. He refuses to go to the doctor. He can barely move becaue of this pain. =( A few days ago his urine was a really weird orange color. He thinks it has something to do with a kidney.

Does anybody know what else this could be? I want to tell him what it could be so he'll stop being stubborn and go see a doctor.
