Help, upper back pain, that wraps around to my chest area, left side?

i have had these pains for a few months now, there getting old, there not always bad, but never really go away, im in the most pain when i lay on my left side. any ideas to what this could be? also im 22 years old.
no i dont think i got these pains from an injury, i have had them since october, i work in a office, so i dont do much. Stretching and adding pressure makes my pain worse.
I plan on going to the doctor in the next couple of days. i forgot to add that it sometimes hurts when i breath, but i just think it does that cause my body is moving.
