1 or 0. They put a solution on your skin to numb the area, then give you Novcaine to numb the whole area, then drill. I've had small cavities where, because it wasn't anywhere near the nerve and small, I didn't even need ANY numbing. Sometimes the area where the needle is inserted may be a little 'stiff' or a bit sore feeling afterwards, but it's not 'pain.'

Depends on the pre-treament drugs they give you. I would prolly average out a 5. :P

The injection in your mouth hurts for a few seconds before they take it out but that's it. It's a bit uncomfortable when the numbness wears off but you won't feel the cavity getting filled.
