| Alcohol and chest pressure/pain or shortness of breath? I am a 5 foot tall woman, about 100lbs and I have found that when I have about 3 to 4 drinks in a night, I feel almost short of breath. I feel a chest pressure and pain sometimes. This is not an "allergy" to alcohol. I had my blood pressure checked two days ago and it was good, but when I drink alcohol, I feel like my heart is clunking along. Does anyone else have this? Could it be related to an underlying issue or just a side effect of alcohol? None of my friends are as small as I am, so I can't compare it to anyone. Any advice or feedback is welcome. Thank you.      |

| alcohol is a depressant. it slows down your body systems. i have the same issue when i drink or take cold medicines with alcohol. my chest feels heavy and my breathing is slightly labored. |
