Waxing/epilating pain tolerance.?

I just purchased an epilator and some wax strips, and in preparation, tried plucking a 2" section of my face, underarms, thighs and bikini line...I was able to handle it with nearly no discomfort, even though I believe I have a rather low pain threshold.

Should I be able to handle it? Will it be much worse?
