Star Brown has a spectacular aura about
Neck pains after Practicing Instrument?

I have recently started learning how to play the bagpipes. I have started with the chanter, but my instructor for fun wanted me to try to blow a note though his bagpipes with a medium reed. I got it to squeak, but not after putting so much pressure on my self, that I think I might have strain something in my neck. It felt like I was trying to air up a tire with my own mouth. Pipes are very hard to get a sound though. I am in a weight program to be able to use the bag, as only firefighters and bodybuilders can start piping day one. It's not for the average musician, at least with real reeds.

Every time I practice since that last lesson, it sometimes feels like something in my neck wants to explode, or at least get real soar. I can rub it away but it comes back after 15 minutes of playing. It stays on the right side of my neck.

I began to wonder if this might be dangerous.

Any ideas or advice would be great.

Thanks!
