Ok...this may be a dumb question..but is my english bulldog in pain because she...

...is in heat? Ok here is the dumb part....if she is...can I give her some tylenol? Will that hurt her??

Yes tylenol can kill her.

She probably not the most comfortable, but being in heat is not considered to be painful. Or at least until the pups come out. I'm sure that doesn't feel too good.

After she's out of heat make an appt. to have her spayed and she won't need to go through this again. English bulldogs have a horrible time giving birth to a litter and often require c-sections. You don't want to endanger her life this way. A spay will save you and her all sorts of problems.

I remember reading that aspirin is poisonous to certain animals. I wouldn't risk administering human pain medication to a dog.

Call up one of the local 24 hour vets and speak to a technician, if you have to, say you got a recommendation from a petco/petsmart store to talk to them, and really just want advice for the time being.

However, if they recommend to bring her in, that's the right thing to do.

Never give Tylenol to a dog. If you think your dog is in pain a visit to the vet is in order.
