ideas to remake the american gothic painting?

In Art we are doing our own version of the American Gothic painting with two people and they have to be holding something else besides the pitch fork. What would be a good idea for it. Ex: Barbie & Ken barbie holding a phone or hairbrush or something important to her. Thanks muchesss

Replace the farmer and his wife with a couple of E.T.s. (grays with the big eyes) holding wierd looking electronic pitch forks.

I can picture President and Mrs. Bush standing in front of the White House, with the President holding a gigantic screwdriver.

Have them holding a AK47 and grenade launcher, in front of an Iraq house. Maybe their welfare check in front of a corporate farm.
