| Faux painting over flat paint on wooden floors, plywood ? Ok, I looked up faux painting and got some great ideas, but what kind of paint or ??? do you use, one says to add something special so the paint is more like enamel or use enamel ......... I am not a decorator so when one sponge paints, what kind of paint should I use and do I add something to the paint, I have painted the floor a milk chocolate flat paint, now what ???? thanks so much , I am no good at this, no artistic ability |

| Playing off of what the first person answered. What type of faux painting? You want enamel.. enamel just means a hard surface. You could do either latex enamel or oil enamel. Latex enamel faux is more popular and easier. You would add a glaze to your paint to make it translusecent and to also slow down the drying time. This lets you have more time to "play" with it before it dries and you can't work with it anymore. Find out what type of look you want and then ask me. I'll hook you up BTW, after your faux technique is done, you'll want to put a water based polyurethane on the floor to protect it. |
