Can I have a pearl coat painted on my 300zx.?

I hate white cars. I currently own my grandads Nissan 300zx. He kept it in great condition and i want to make sure i do to. However, like i said, i hate white cars. they just don't look good to me. I want to have it painted a pearl white. Don't say "it will be expensive." I have the money. It's mine i'm just looking for an answer. I wanted to know if there was a way that i would just have a pear finish put over the white instead of having it stripped and repainted. please help me it would be appreciated

noooooooo! i work in a dealership, and ive seen it when people try to do that, it looks like shit. the car has to be stripped and primed for it to stick. and dont have maaco do it either.

The vehicle would not have to be stripped unless the existing paint is peeling, cracking, or has some other issue that is already causing "lift" issues. You can't just spray a pearl coat over the existing clear because it will not look right. The entire vehicle must be painted PROFESSIONALLY to make it come out right, but it can be done. You will probably be quoted anywhere from $2500-$5000 for a quality job.
