| What short story is this? An artist has a beautifully painted house with
a black bedroom door? A friend was telling me about this short story. She told me there was an artist who painted the inside of his house extravagantly, except for his bedroom door, which was painted black. He had a pigeon, which he called a dove.
A young man becomes infatuated with the artist, and interested in what is beyond the door. He eventually finds it to be a normal, boring room, where the artist can be alone in his mind. They might have ended up sleeping together, not sure.
