| Nissan/Infiniti: Self-Healing/Repairing Body Paint? i remember reading in a magazine that Nissan/Infiniti (or at least i like to think it was) Motors was going to introduce a new paint for a certain model (sigh, was it for the new EX35? idk..) that self-"heals" or "repairs" itself to its original factory- finish after becoming scratched. i think the only color choice available for the special paint with the feature is Black. they said they were going to charge extra for it, too (like a $300 option?), but i think if the paint actually works as advertised, then id say its totally worth the money. otherwise, why bother? does anyone know anything more about this than i do, like, how does it work? does it only work on light scratches, or can it handle deep scratches left by vandals "key-ing" all around the body of the car after parking in a bad neighborhood? is it only available in black? what cars already have it (is it Nissan?), and why dont they offer this special paint on any other cars, like, im surprised Mercedes-Benz doesnt offer it?? |
