Puppy ate dried paint?

I have a three month old Silky Terrier. I awoke this morning and he was acting rather sluggish. When I brought him in the house from going outside, he was moving very slowly. I noticed him pick up some dried paint (looked like from around the rim of a paint can because I had been painting). I took it from his mouth of course and he went and laid back down so I'm assuming he had injested the paint from earlier. I will call the vet this morning but they do not open til 9. What else can I do?

Not sure how long before the vet opens, but I would take this puppy to the emergency vet right now - and take the paint can as well.

If the paint contains any metal, such as lead or zinc, it could be doing awful things to your dog right now, and they need to get him on supportive care, as well as get as much of it out of him.
