Acrylic or oil paint? I have painting class and I'm still debating on which one to use. I'd like your personal opinions, pros and cons, and price differences on both of them. As far as I know, acrylic paint dries a lot faster and I heard it leaves permanent stains on fabric. Oil based paints are apparently easier to work with, but it takes forever to dry and may get ruined during the drying process if it gets touched.

Im a Painting Major- or was graduated last yr. I used oils all four years and Loved it. Its so nice to be able to come back to your painting and adjust it hours later. It does take time to dry but there are mediums that help speed it up. Oils can be much more textural as well. if it does get smudged during drying its still easy to fix. Acrylic hasa matte finish i dont like and drys way too fast Depending on brands you use, oils are more expensive

well it all depends. oil paints are hella hard to clean up and can really irritate ur skin if not being careful with the turpentine and of course there is always something called water based oils and they come off with just water. acrylic is easier but it all depends up to u. not to mention oils are fun to play with lol
