I have 1000 Pictures and I need to change their format quickly.?

I have a 2GB Walkman Video MP3 player that i want to put some pictures on. But when I put them on the Walkman they wouldnt show because they were the wrong format. so I was wondering how would I change all these pictures to JPG format really fast? I know they will work if I change them to JPG because when I open paint and do save as.. JPG format the picture will work. But doing this on ALOT of pictures would be time consuming and probably not worht the hassle. Any help apreciated. Thanks ! ! !

acdsee alows you to do such batch processing... select all the pictures you want to reformat, hit CTRL+F the dialog window will open asking for the new format, select the one you want and press "process". then, go have a coffe!!
